Wild Interiors
Biomorphic Abstraction · Imagined Ecosystems · Psychological Landscapes
Wild Interiors explores the space where the natural world and the inner self become indistinguishable. Through imagined botanical forms, fragmented organisms, and surreal landscapes, I investigate the ways memory, emotion, and lived experience take root, evolve, and transform within us.
In these paintings, nature abandons its familiar structures. Flowers become strange inhabitants, branches resemble anatomical pathways, and organic forms emerge as extensions of the body and mind. Saturated colors, gestural textures, and unexpected visual relationships create environments that feel simultaneously familiar and otherworldly—ecosystems governed by an emotional rather than biological logic.
I approach these imagined environments as manifestations of interior experience, where growth is neither orderly nor predictable. Forms intertwine, compete, fracture, and regenerate, suggesting the delicate coexistence of vulnerability and resilience, beauty and disturbance, creation and decay.
Rather than depicting nature as something separate from human experience, Wild Interiors considers the body and psyche as living landscapes, continually reshaped by forces both visible and unseen.
These works invite viewers into spaces where the boundaries between the organic and the psychological dissolve, revealing that what grows within us can be as unruly, mysterious, and transformative as the world beyond us.
