ARTIST STATEMENT

I create Neo-Expressionist paintings that explore the shifting relationships between identity, perception, memory, and the body. Through fragmented figures, symbolic forms, saturated color, and gestural mark-making, I translate invisible psychological and neurological experiences into emotionally charged visual narratives.

My practice was profoundly shaped by my diagnosis with multiple sclerosis in 2019, while extending beyond illness to examine transformation, vulnerability, resilience, human connection, and the ways identity is reconstructed following life-altering experiences. Working intuitively, I build layered surfaces in which abstraction and figuration coexist, allowing meaning to emerge through gesture, texture, color, interruption, and revision.

Rather than offering fixed narratives, my paintings create spaces of uncertainty and reflection, making visible experiences that often resist language and exploring what remains of the self through periods of change.
