Description:
Two forms emerge from a shared foundation, their crimson interiors exposing vastly different realities. One contains a vibrant constellation of color and possibility, while the other bears pale, fragmented voids that evoke memory, neurological disruption, and the invisible architecture of illness. Striped pillars anchor both figures, suggesting that despite radically different internal landscapes, they remain inseparably connected.
Rooted in Neo-Expressionism, Crossroads of Perception reflects on the tension between outward stability and unseen transformation. Inspired by the visual language of MRI scans and the lived experience of Multiple Sclerosis, the work questions how identity persists as the mind and body continually reshape one another. Rather than depicting disease itself, the painting becomes a meditation on perception: the worlds we carry within us are often invisible, yet they profoundly determine how we move through the world.
